Is this allowed by Google?
Yes. EarnedStars is built to be fully compliant with Google's policies and FTC guidelines. Every customer receives the same message and the same review links — no filtering, no routing by sentiment, no blocking. Low-rated customers also get a direct line to the owner for service recovery, but they always receive the public review link too. This is the opposite of "review gating," which violates Google's policies and can result in your reviews being removed.
Which review platforms does it work with?
Google Business Profile is the most important platform for local rankings, and it's always included. EarnedStars also supports Facebook, Yelp, Houzz, Angi, and virtually any other platform with a public review link. We configure the right combination for your business during setup.
How do my customers use it? Do they need an app?
No app, nothing to download. Customers receive a text message, reply with a number 1–5, and then receive their review links. The whole thing takes less than a minute.
How much work is it for me?
Almost none. After a job, a review request goes out — triggered with one tap, or automatically if you use a field-service system like Jobber or Housecall Pro. Everything after that is handled for you.
What happens when a customer leaves a low rating?
Two things happen simultaneously: they receive the same review links as everyone else (no one is ever blocked from posting publicly), and you get an instant text alert with their name and number. That alert is your chance to reach out, address the problem quickly, and save the relationship before it escalates.
